The Hygge Sampler - Capturing Warm, Cozy, Calm and Comfortable.
HYGGE (pronounced “HOO GA”) is a Danish word that means coziness. A calm comfortable time with people you love. A complete absence of frustrations, or anything emotionally overwhelming, often enjoyed with good food and drinks, warm blankets, and candlelight. Hygge is often associated with nature, arts and crafts, simple pleasures, and good company. Quilts and hygge go hand in hand, and this quilt pictures concepts of a hygge lifestyle in a fun sampler that will keep us cuddly-warm all year long.
The Hygge Sampler Block of the Month Club is a 12-Month Block of the Month pattern, but it may be worked at your own pace as well. The Sampler PDF download file contains all 13 Patterns - 12 Block Patterns and 1 Setting Pattern for this playful intermediate quilt. Participants will make anywhere from 1 - 5 blocks per month. The BOM uses traditional piecing techniques, flying geese, appliqué, and basic paper piecing. There are links to instructional videos throughout the pattern for additional help.

The pattern lists the fabric requirements for the Robert Kaufman Flannels (Mammoth and Shetland Flannels), and other Riley Blake Flannels used in the sample.. Or make your cozy Hygge Sampler from a color palette that soothes you!
